Miniature Kinetic Sculpture

Many people have asked for a smaller kinetic sculpture and David hasn't created one.  He has found that the rhythmic motion is lost if you decrease the mass of the pieces. He especially dislikes his designs if the are jerky and strives to create mechanisms that produce a fluid, smooth motion.

But that doesn't mean others haven't created tiny kinetic sculptures, almost jewel like in their detail.  Here is the work of Polish sculptor Szymon Klimek.  Not only is it tiny but it is solar powered as well! And it is housed in a wine glass.

My god(simply an expression of 'taking the breath away): I find it(unusual for me)to put into words the overall sense that I feel when looking at these marvels, and THEY ARE most truly that, which one should marvel at, over, about, around, in........GHD

The goblets also lend a bit of elegance to the display. The spherical shape of the goblet allows viewers to see the work from any angle. The goblets do not exceed a height of 30 cm and a diameter of 11 cm. Mechanical devices powered by natural or artificial light. The tiny machines are placed inside glass goblets for protection due to their small size and delicacy.
The engines are made from thin sheet brass and bronze and carefully hand assembled.
