About This Portfolio

This is a listing of all the kinetic sculptures I have created since 1975. It is an archive of historical and current work. Most of these are no longer available for purchase because they were created in limited editions. Go to the Current Works page to see sculptures still available for purchase.

You will find photographs, possibly videos, and much more information on many of the sculptures by clicking on the "Click to read more..." link. I have limited information on many of the sculptures from the early years. They were created before video cameras!

Radiance Kinetic Sculpture Directions

About Radiance

Radiance creates a kaleidoscope of shifting patterning effects. The two 12-spoked patterning wheels are off balance so that they accelerate and decelerate with each rotation. They do this at different paces creating an ever-changing array of patterns. Eventually either wheel or both slow down enough, lose momentum, reverse direction, and trigger the drive mechanism. This action gives the wheels new energy and starts the variety of patterning effects all over again.

• I love this one probably more than all the others. It is mesmerizing, to say the least. I like it so much I made my own version of it, using EL wire. It is called NeonString Radiance and can be seen here:

Mr Roy suggested I post something about it here, so now I've done it. :) Radiance = AMAZING! - 02.21.09 - Erik NeonString
